what are Cracked feet?

Cracked feet are also known as heel fissures. The skin on human feet is naturally in a dry form because it has no sweat gland to keep it moisturized; this can lead to breaking or cracking of skin especially during dry season. Cracked feet are mostly not considered to be dangerous except in severe cases when it becomes painful or starts bleeding. Sometimes cracked feet are caused by hypothyroidism or diabetes and they could also get infected. Other causes of cracked feet are excessive hot showers or bath; aging is also one of the factors because we naturally lose moisture in our skin as we age, spending long period in the sun, low humidity level in schools, homes, offices etc.

How do you know you have cracked feet?

Symptoms of cracked are mostly visible; you notice some cracks or red patches on your feet. This symptom should not be neglected because one there is a red patch the next thing that comes in if not properly treated is an infection.

Natural Remedies that help fix Cracked Feet

  • Wash your feet daily

Wash your feet daily with antibacterial soap and warm water, use a pumice stone to scrub away dead skin cells. Please be gentle while scrubbing these dead tissues away and if you notice any pain please stop. Slightly use a clean towel to dry your feet

  • Always Moisturize those feet

Human feet are naturally dry and need to be constantly moisturized especially during low humid weather. You could apply olive oil to your feet to help keep it smooth and healthy. All you need do is take some quantity of olive oil on a cotton ball and use it to massage those feet; you could keep rubbing and massaging it for about 10 minutes. A mixture of glycerine and rose water could be applied on the broken feet. Mix a solution of rose water and glycerine in a ratio of 3:1, and add a bit of lemon juice to it. Finally, you should always cover up your feet with socks to keep it moisturized.

  • Fruit Mask

Everyone knows the power of fruit when it comes to healing but this time around you will use the fruit externally to fix that cracked heels. Fruits like banana, paw-paw (papaya) and avocado. In other to prepare the fruit mask, you mash avocado and banana together and a little flesh of coconut to it. Properly stir it and add some quantity of the mixture to your heels for fifteen minutes then wash it off.

  • Oat Meal

Am sure this is going to sound strange but it actually works, Oath meal is a good antidote for those cracked heels, all you need to do is mix some jojoba oil with a table spoon of oatmeal (powdered) to make a paste. Wash and dry your cracked heels and no apply this thick paste to it for about 30 minutes before you wash it off with cold water and the dry. Do this for few days for the perfect result.
